How To Backup And Restore Your WordPress Blog ?

How often you backup your wordpress blog? For me, I always backup my wordpress database everytime I made a new post. Today, I’ll share on how to backup and restore back your wordpress blog. So, here’s step by step tutorial =)

Backup Your WordPress

Step 1

On the left side, there is “Tools” menu. Expend the box and click on the “Export“.

Step 2

Click on the “Download Export File“. A new Box will appear.

Hit ok and save your file. Now you have backup your WordPress blog.
The file you’ve saved contains your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags. All the images in your blog are not save along the backup file.

Restore Your WordPress

Step 1
Under the “Tools” menu on your left sidebar, click on the the “Import“.

Step 2
Click on “WordPress“.

Step 3
Browse the file that you have saved before and hit on “Upload file and import” button.

Step 4
Click on “submit” button. Done =)

I know that there is a lot of Firefox’s users out there. Actually, most of the visitor who visited my blog use Firefox as their browser. Today, I want to share the most uses shortcut key in Firefox.

1. CTRL + T
Open new tab

2. CTRL + W
Close current tab

3. CTRL + F
To search the website.

4. CTRL + D
Bookmark current website

5. CTRL + R or F5
Reload current page

6. CTRL + +
Increase text size

7. CTRL + -
Decrease text size

8. CTRL + 0 (Number zero not alphabet “o”)
Restore the current page into it’s original size

9. CTRL + Shift + T
Restore the last page you visited in new tab

10. CTRL + L or ALT + D
Highlight the address bar in current page

There are many other shortcuts in Firefox. But this is the most shortcuts that I always use =)

How to add contact form on wordpress?

This is just a simple question for advance wordpress users. But for newbie like me? I’ve to find answer for that. So, How I can add contact form on wordpress? There were multiple way you can add a contact form on your blog. But, the easiest way is by using a plugin, WP-ContactForm .

The first thing you have to do is download the plugin here.

Next, you have to install the plugin. Go to your wordpress admin panel> plugins > add new.

Then, browse the plugin in your hard disk and hit the install now button.

Now you have connect to your server using your ftp account.

Click the proceed button and if everything going well, you’re almost done.

After installing the plugins into your server, you have to manage your form.

WordPress categories disappear ?

This is a strange problem for me. Categories for the wordpress are missing. I tried to refresh the browser a few times but the categories are still not there. Try to take a look at it.

So, I google for some explanation hoping that someone can solve my problem. I found a solution by David Cumps for this unusual problem. But still not work for me. So, what happened? I shut down my pc and have some sleep. I open my blog today and magically the categories appear again. Problem solve !! Actually the problem does not solve by itself, maybe there are some minor problem with the database and it need time to recover back. If you got something like this, just don’t panic. It will be ok soon. =)
