You have installed a new theme for your WordPress blog but there is no Gravatar available for that theme. Actually the solution is simple.

So, How To Enable Gravatar On Your WordPress Blog ? No plugin needed =)

1. Open comment.php for your theme that you use for your blog.

2. Copy the code below :

<?php if(function_exists(‘get_avatar’)) { echo get_avatar($comment, ’40′); } ?>

3. Paste the code in comment.php. You’ll find the suitable place to paste code. Take a look on the example :

4. Save the comment.php file and you’re done! You can change the size of the gravatar. As you can see, I’m using 40 for the size of my gravatar. Good luck =)

How To Install WordPress On Your PC ?

This question always come in my mind before I started to blog a few months ago. How to install wordpress on my own pc ? Ok, I’ll show you step by step on how to do this.

1. You have to install WampServer on your computer. You can download it HERE. It’s just free =)

2. After all the installation is done, open the WampServer program. You’ll notice that there will be an icon on the bottom right side of the windows. Left click an click on www directory.

3. A window will open. Create a new folder in it. For example “blog“. Upload all the wordpress files into “blog” folder. You can use any name you want. But in this tutorial I use blog for my folder

4. Now I assume that you’ve uploaded all wordpress files into “blog” folder. Left click on the icon again and click Localhost.

5. Click on phpmyadmin under Your Aliases menu.

6. Now, you have to create a new database for your blog. Fill in any word. For example, I use “blog” for my database. Hit on create button.

7. You have to add user for your database. Click on Privileges tab and click on Add a new user.

8. Fill in the form and hit Go button.

9. Open the wp-config-sample.php in the “blog” folder and change the database name, user for your blog and the password. Save the file as wp-config.php.

10. Left click on the icon again and click Localhost. Click on blog link under Your Projects menu.

11. The hard part is over. Just fill on your blog title and your email. Hit Install WordPress button and you’re done !

How To Add A Border To An Image

This tutorial will show you the simple way to add a border to an image. I’ll show two methods that you can use. Your image will look like after you add a border.

Method 1

In this method, I’ll show you how to add border using The GNU Image Manipulation Program, GIMP. GIMP is a free software. You can download HERE.

Step 1

Click on Select menu and click All.

Step 2

Then, click on Select menu again and click Border

Step 3

A new window will open. Choose your pixel. I usually use two. Click Ok

Step 4

Now, Click on Edit menu and and hit on Fill with FG Color. You already finish =)

Method 2

This is the most simple method. No software needed.
Use the following code :

Example:
My image location is “blinkky.com/images/logo_without_border.gif”
The code that I’ll use look like below :

Now, My image will look like below:

You can change the border to any size you want. That’s it. All done =)

How To Backup And Restore Your WordPress Blog ?

How often you backup your wordpress blog? For me, I always backup my wordpress database everytime I made a new post. Today, I’ll share on how to backup and restore back your wordpress blog. So, here’s step by step tutorial =)

Backup Your WordPress

Step 1

On the left side, there is “Tools” menu. Expend the box and click on the “Export“.

Step 2

Click on the “Download Export File“. A new Box will appear.

Hit ok and save your file. Now you have backup your WordPress blog.
The file you’ve saved contains your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags. All the images in your blog are not save along the backup file.

Restore Your WordPress

Step 1
Under the “Tools” menu on your left sidebar, click on the the “Import“.

Step 2
Click on “WordPress“.

Step 3
Browse the file that you have saved before and hit on “Upload file and import” button.

Step 4
Click on “submit” button. Done =)
